The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) is a major force in Central Texas, supplying low-cost electricity to more than a million customers in addition to managing the region's water supply.

For years, DataComm has played an integral part in the LCRA's IT strategy, providing a wide range of services as the LCRA migrated its IT operation from mainframe to ERP systems.

Initially, DataComm was enlisted to provide project management and analysis, service request resolution and production support on a 24/7 basis for the existing mainframe environment, which included GEAC, Financial and IDMS systems.

DataComm consultants were able to meet customer requirements, including providing a stable and reliable mainframe application environment for the LCRA.

When the LCRA decided to move its legacy systems to an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, DataComm was once again given the opportunity to provide technical and functional support—this time with the conversion and upgrade for PeopleSoft Financials and Human Resources modules.

DataComm has also been on hand as the LCRA continues to upgrade its ERP environment to meet changing IT requirements.
