Employee Retirement System Upgrades from Legacy to ERP

DataComm enjoys long-term relationships with a number of our public sector customers, such as the Employee Retirement System of Texas (ERS).

In 1996, the ERS selected DataComm to upgrade all of its DBS (GEAC) Government MARS series packages. The upgrade included the following DBS CICS/VSAM, DOS/VSE applications: DCI, IE GL and MARS/G GV.

During the upgrade, DataComm consultants also handled all file conversions, applied all DBS Service Requests and update bulletins, converted the JCL to the new release, performed parallel testing and coordinated the move to production.

As the ERS evolved its IT infrastructure, it decided to replace GEAC products with PeopleSoft Financials, Benefits Administration Implementation application suite and Pension modules. Having provided solid bottom-line results with its mainframe consulting, DataComm was asked to continue working with the ERS IT team to ensure a successful PeopleSoft implementation.
